At The Hat Chick, we're committed to getting your perfect hat and accessories to you quickly and safely, whether you're headed to the mountains of Colorado, the beaches of Mexico, or anywhere in between. This shipping policy outlines our processes, timeframes, and policies to ensure you have a clear understanding of how we handle your orders.

Processing Time

Standard Processing: 1-3 business days

  • Orders are processed Monday through Friday (excluding holidays)

  • Orders placed after 2:00 PM EST will be processed the next business day

  • Custom hat orders may require additional processing time of 5-7 business days

Rush Processing: Available upon request

  • Additional fees may apply for expedited processing

Domestic Shipping (United States)

Standard Shipping

  • Delivery: 5-8 business days

  • FREE for orders $500.00 and up

  • $4.90 for orders 0-5 lbs

  • $25 for orders 5-70 lbs

  • Tracking included

International Shipping

Canada

  • Cost: $18.95

  • Delivery: 7-14 business days

  • Customs fees may apply

Mexico

  • Cost: $22.95

  • Delivery: 10-18 business days

  • Customs fees and import duties may apply

Other International Destinations

  • Cost: Calculated at checkout

  • Delivery: 15-30 business days

  • Customer responsible for all customs fees, duties, and taxes

Shipping Restrictions

Items We Cannot Ship

  • No restrictions on standard hat and accessory products

Geographic Restrictions

  • We currently ship to all 50 US states, Puerto Rico, Canada, and Mexico

  • Other international destinations available upon request

  • PO Boxes accepted for domestic orders only

Special Handling

Custom/Personalized Items

  • Require additional 5-7 business days processing

  • Cannot be expedited beyond 3-day processing

  • Non-returnable 

Bulk Orders (10+ items)

  • May require extended processing time

  • Contact us for custom shipping quotes

  • Special packaging to prevent damage

Packaging & Protection

  • All hats shipped in protective boxes

  • Shape-retention materials used to maintain hat form

  • Weather-resistant packaging for all shipments

  • Fragile items double-boxed when necessary

Tracking & Delivery

Order Tracking

  • Tracking information emailed within 24 hours of shipment

  • Track orders through your account

Delivery Requirements

  • Signature required for orders over $200

  • Safe delivery to address provided by customer

  • Delivery attempts made during standard business hours

Shipping Costs & Free Shipping

Free Economy Shipping Qualifications:

  • Orders $500.00 and up (domestic US only)

  • Does not apply to Standard shipping

  • Cannot be combined with other shipping promotions

Shipping Cost Calculation:

  • Based on order weight and shipping method selected

  • Weight-based pricing tiers automatically applied at checkout

  • Economy shipping FREE for orders $500.00 and up

  • Any additional fees disclosed before payment

Lost, Damaged, or Delayed Packages

Lost Packages

  • Report within 30 days of expected delivery

  • Full investigation initiated with carrier

  • Replacement or refund provided after carrier investigation

Damaged Items

  • Report within 5 days of delivery

  • Photos of damage required

  • Replacement shipped immediately for in-stock items

Delayed Deliveries

  • Carrier delays beyond our control

  • We'll track and follow up on your behalf

  • Expedited replacement shipping at no charge for significant delays

Address Changes & Delivery Issues

Address Changes

  • Must be requested within 2 hours of order placement

  • Changes may not be possible once order is processed

  • Additional shipping fees may apply for address corrections

Undeliverable Packages

  • Returned to sender after carrier attempts

  • Customer responsible for return shipping costs

  • Reshipment requires payment of new shipping fees

Holiday & Peak Season Shipping

Holiday Shipping Deadlines

  • Standard Ground: December 18th

  • Expedited: December 21st

  • Priority Express: December 23rd

  • Dates subject to change based on carrier schedules

Peak Season Considerations

  • Extended processing times during high-demand periods

  • Recommended early ordering for gift deliveries

  • Expedited shipping strongly recommended November-December

Military & APO/FPO Addresses

  • Standard shipping rates apply

  • Extended delivery times (2-4 weeks)

  • Tracking may be limited once package reaches military facility

  • Contact us for specific military shipping requirements

Returns & Exchanges Shipping

Return Shipping

  • Customer responsible for return shipping costs unless item is defective

  • Return labels available for purchase through customer account

  • Exchanges require separate shipping charges
